Ceremonies and Rituals

If you were wondering about the ceremonies and rituals of Sophiax,
you've come to the right place. Here, you will find all the information
on ceremonies including, but not limited to:

mass acceptance
receiving a rank
receiving a name
becoming mates
etc.

There are also rituals that are defined by the time of year instead
of when a member does something remarkable. These are numerous,
and so I will not post them here in this post.

If you believe a ceremony or ritual should be created based on something
your character has done, or something you've seen in the past, please
don't be afraid to contact me about it.

There will be at least one ritual a month.

Full Moon Ritual

During the Full moon ritual, the High Priest and Priestess will work with the Scribe to
make an impressive display. A circle will be cast and we will howl our thanks to the
Moon Gods and Goddesses. We will wear masks (leaves, mud, etc.) and paints specific
to the moon, and announce who the pack's newest couple is. Will happen every Esbat.

New Moon Ritual

The Gods and Goddesses always bless our expectant mothers with their pups
on this day. At night, we praise the Gods for the new life they have given us,
and bless the family of the newborns. This ritual will always be short.

Yule

On the shortest day of the year, Yule will be celebrated by spending time with family during the long night, singing our beautiful songs to the Gods that blessed us. In the early morning, the pack will hunt, and later that day, we will feast. There will be an exchanging of items such as feathers, precious rocks, and tolkens of friendship.

Candlemas

During the day of Candlemas, we will belss our lands and say our thatnks to the snow that gives us such a beautiful winter. We will also sing a song handed down through generations to welcome the coming spring. We will not banish, but say farewells to the cold months until the time comes again.

Ostara

During Ostara, when night and day are of equal length, we will celebrate balance by hosting a spring hunt. There will be prizes hidden throughout the territory that we will search for. When the hunt is over, we will have races and competitions. For one day, you will be able to go to the High Priest and Priestess for festive tattoos and accessories. The night of Ostara, the first mating pair of the year will be announced.

Beltane

On Beltane, we will celebrate the warm summer months ahead. Around the eve of Beltane, the first litter of the pack is born, signaling the joining of the two halves to make a whole - the third entity. Paint colors include bright blue, lavender, warm pink, lemon yellow, white, and red. On this day, we represent the union of the Lord and Lady with a grand festival. Members of ally packs are more than welcome to join us in this festival and any other.
